Alamelu also known as "Alamelu manga and Padmavathi" is a Hindu devi. Believed to a form of Lakshmi. The Hindu Goddess of elemental prakriti. Alamelu manga is the consort of Sri Venkateswara and an incarnation of Goddess Mahalakshmi.
The name Padmavathi is Sanskrit " She who emerged from Lotus". The most prominent Shrine of Padmavathi is Sri Padmavathi ammavari temple situated at Tiruchanur a suburb of Tirupati city. Tradition dictates that every pilgrim to Tirupati must offer obeisance at this temple before visiting the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.
Alamelu manga is major deity in Hinduism worshiped as an aspect of Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that her intercession in dispensable to gaining the favour of the lord, it is also believed that Lakshmi is Co-omnipresent and the co-bestower of moksham along with Lord Vishnu. Sri Alamelu manga is the mother Goddess figure for staunch Sri Vaishnavites in particular Hindu in general.
Nammazhwar in his thiruvaimozhi says
Agalakillen iraiyum endru Alarmelmangai mel urai marba;
Nagaril pugazhai! Ulagam munrudaiyai ennai alvane
Nigaril amarar munik kanangal virumbum;
Thiruvengadaththaney pugazh orila adiyen un adi keezh amarndhu pugundhene!
the sentence "Agalakillen iraiyum endru Alarmelmangai mel urai marba" translates as "Goddess Lakshmi is not away from (Venkateswara) your heart always with you (him).
